Somewhere high in the mountains of Ubud, I lost and found myself

As I sat on my verandah surrounded by lush jungle, I listened to the sounds of nature, and I felt re-born.

I know as perfect as my pictures may be, nothing will ever truly capture the perfection of this place, so as I write I try to lock everything inside, every sound, every smell, every moment.

It is a beautiful feeling to get lost in a moment, to surrender to your surroundings and be really present.

Sometimes you need to step away from your comfort zone, your daily routine, get a little lost in order to find yourself again.

In my five days in Ubud, Bali I rediscovered myself several times over, whether it was time away with my husband, the several $10 relaxing massages we had or the sheer magic of the place I will never know.

All I know for sure is that taking time out to work out what it is you really want for yourself is and should be an essential part of all our lives.
