Powerful and playful

I am sitting in the city waiting for my mate, the song ‘forever young’ is playing on my iPod and I am thinking about a yoga workshop I did on Sunday.

The workshop was with the beautiful girls from Amber Tree Retreats, the workshop title – ‘Power and Play’.

How could I not participate in that!

This may sound strange but when the question was posed to the group ” Do you have enough ‘play’ in your life?” I could wholeheartedly raise my hand excitedly and like a little kid shriek – “me, me, yes I do!”

Those in the room who knew me, smiled knowingly and I smiled deep inside my heart knowing that my life is composed of such a beautiful balance of work, power, rest and play.

The workshop discussed how free we were as children, we would try anything and just play without fear of judgement and the beautiful girls running the workshop ably guided us to unleash our inner child.

I perhaps took the play part of the workshop a little too far,  getting a little over-excited when we were doing partner assisted hand stands….

….I got paired up with someone I didn’t know…..

…..anyho long story short……

I got a bit excited doing hand stands – flipped up too quickly – panicked – ended up with my legs wrapped around this ladies head and my crotch in her face and just stayed there yelling I don’t know what to do – I don’t know what to do

Again, for those in the room who know me, were not surprised!

I am a walking contradiction of powerful, playfulness, calmness and the ridiculous!

Everyone needs that’s balance of power and play in their lives, and I hope you all can start to find and embrace yours.
