Last night I witnessed something so beautiful and spectacular that my mind, for a long while could barely comprehend what my eyes had seen.
Last night whilst sitting outside with some friends and family I saw something out of the corner of my eye, what I saw took my breath away, sent my heart rate racing and caused my skin to tingle with excitement.
As I shrieked and pointed to the skies we all looked up, with jaws agape a mixture of calmness, excitement and confusion passed over the group.
A red and orange ball was passing through the sky a huge tail passing behind, it felt like hours, it felt like seconds, it felt as though I had witnessed and was a part of something incredible and I didn’t quite know what it was.
It wasn’t a shooting star, it was a comet or a meteorite, it was a one in a million chance of sitting outside and being lucky enough to glance up at that exact moment in time.
Once it had passed, we looked down at our empty wine glasses in hand and immediately turned to the pregnant one amongst us to ensure she had witnessed it too.
The group then turned to me, grateful I had noticed it and shared with everyone.
As I type I again sit here thinking about the chances of being there at that exact moment of facing the right direction, of not being inside, of accidentally being a part of such a significant event.
Sometimes I think I am lucky to be in the right place at the right time, other times I truly believe that these things happen around me because I believe; I believe in beauty, in the magic of the universe, and I believe that you should always keep your eyes open wide to take everything in.
I believe that those of us who have that faith will always be rewarded in kind!
