Yeah yeah I appreciate the irony of blogging and voicing my inner monologue in this very topic.
Yet as I find myself distancing myself further and further away from Facebook, as the posts telling me what people ate, how they have finished their housework, how they are waiting….., they are hoping “it” will get better……
continue to flood my Facebook news feed I got to wonder what is the point of it all.
If Facebook were to simply vanish tomorrow, would we have an entire human race, grabbing the nearest person to tell them their thoughts, would the person waking by give a thumbs up to “like” these inner thoughts.
If no one gave us a thumbs up would we fall apart and feel like failures ?
When did we as a society need instant gratification for every thought we have (I too am guilty of this) doesn’t mean I like it!
We Facebook, we tweet, we need to share everything, and I got to be honest do people really care?
Are we so lonely, so bored, so in need of attention we have to seek constant reassurance?
What if we could live in a world, where we just spoke to each other, assured each other, were positive and liked each other.
We caught up, we chatted, we listened, we shared our lives with the people close to us.
What would that world be like for you?
A handful of people who genuinely cared for you.
Who listened to you and supported you.
What if you could just love and be confident enough in yourself to not rely on how many “likes” you get to feel good.
Will I be sad if no one likes this post, maybe, but in all reality we all feel differently about everything.
You may disagree with everything I have said here and by all means please let me know if you .
We all care about different things, we value different things, and while I agree it’s great to get a like on a post I write or a photo I post, I am comfortable enough in my own skin to not fall apart if I don’t.
I believe it all comes back to that, love and trusting yourself enough to not need the rest.
Always welcome positive feedback but don’t break down if it doesn’t come, remember everyone is living their own lives, people are busy fighting their own battles.
If people don’t respond it does mean they don’t care.
